Dean of the Asian Development College for Community Economy and Technology (adiCET)
The Asian Development College for Community Economy and Technology (adiCET) is an institution under Chiang Mai Rajabhat University with a mission to provide graduate education, research, and academic services to local communities. adiCET is committed to promoting energy conservation, efficiency, and the use of renewable energy technologies, integrating them into real-world community contexts. As a leader in sustainable development and green innovation, adiCET established the Chiang Mai World Green City (CMGC) as a living laboratory and learning center for green and smart grid technologies. CMGC showcases practical applications in areas such as renewable energy systems, eco-friendly buildings, low-carbon agriculture, and waste-to-energy solutions.
A key feature of CMGC is its Smart Community, powered by a 100% renewable energy-based system using AC/DC smart microgrids and integrating technologies such as solar PV, biomass, biogas, and biodiesel. adiCET’s initiatives extend to rural electrification, plastic waste reuse (e.g., plastic roads), and air quality monitoring (adiDUST), creating impactful change across environmental and economic sectors. Through its community economy initiative, the Social Innovation Driving Unit (SID), adiCET supports local entrepreneurs and SMEs in adopting socially and environmentally responsible business models. With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and practical application, adiCET serves as a hub for developing smart and sustainable communities, bridging academic knowledge with local development for a better future.
